This chapter starts out with Tomoya stating that a bath scene is a must have in a romantic comedy, due to how rich it is in both moe and erotic elements, while discussing Utaha's new novel. When Tomoya gets undressed in the bathroom, Utaha barges in on him with a camera, telling him to make some good reactions, and Tomoya freaks out. Once they're done they got to rehearse the lines together, Tom oya excited that he gets to take part in the work. Next they have a long session of rehersing the script. However, when Utaha somewhat compares him to Machida, her previous editor, he replies harshly that he isn't Machida. This angers her, and she orders him to leave. After pondering what he said for awhile in guilt, he verbally apologizes to Utaha, and then writes something up which he calls a self gratifying apology, as well. After Tomoya gives a well thought out, long, deep speech to Utaha, she still tells him to go home, crying in her room. The next day Utaha is talking to Machida, who is berating him for contacting him without having Utaha's plot ready. Meanwhile, Utaha is still crying, saying that she wants to compose an apology for Tomoya. Later Tomoya is someplace else and he calls Machida with his cell phone, telling her that Utaha had conceived an amazing school harem plot, all the while Utaha is laying in her bed, dumbfounded that Tomoya managed to motivate her using the words that she'd written.
